Terry Davis and TempleOS

Thu Jun 18, 2020 5:22 am

Dunno where to put this but man, this guy's crazy. A genius, but crazy nonetheless. Gives Christianity a bad rep too.

He died a couple of years ago, BTW. Struck and killed by a train while walking along the tracks.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Yeah. What a way to go. And a 'religious' man too (who says the F word in every sentence he says.

Terry Davis was 100% mentally ill.

Once he stopped talking his meds and took to the roads, the outlook wasn't good. And sadly, he died within months of that happening.

I heard of him from the linked Down the Rabbit Hole video a few years. I find his story fascinating and tragic - I mean you can see his mental health descent but there's still fundamentally so much evidence that he was so talented beyond that

Yeah. Gotta admit I don't like how he cusses so much, acts aggressively and derogatorily against others, jacks off in his videos (only mentioned, thank goodness), and was guilty of domestic violence against his dad but I guess he's really losing it at that point. Also sad to see his parents kick him out of their house, but then his presence is becoming dangerous especially given their old age and his violent and nasty behavior.

It's a very colorful story, to be sure. And while I honestly think TempleOS isn't really useful for anything, it's still a tremendous piece of work especially for just one person, and with mental illness thrown in to boot.

Sorry if I'm just stating the obvious, but it's to pique the interest of those who haven't watched the videos. :)

Per Wikipedia, he was bipolar for a while, then later diagnosed as schizo. Look up both and then you'll have an idea why he did what he did.

I know a guy who has episodes of paranoid schizophrenia, thankfully mostly controlled with meds. In a bad trip he hears voices as real as you and me telling him negative things. He didn't elaborate in detail, but there's a reason it's called "paranoid."

Aren't there places for people like that? And I have some experience with a few people with similar conditions, including one who since I have known him has never did anything violent even to himself.
