RIP Chuck Yeager

Farewell Chuck as you take that final flight to the wild blue yonder....

It was his collaboration with Electronic Arts in the early 1990's with the "Air Combat" game that really hooked me into PC gaming and I never went back to consoles. Also it introduced me to military history and I made a career in the USAF in science and engineering, active duty and civil service.

I referenced the game in my forum signature last few years here on TR. If you want to try the game click on the link to the web page DOS emulator and just type in any number for the aircraft trivia question and it will start the game.

Godspeed, Chuck Yeager! They don't make 'em like that anymore.
I hate when I go out in public, and the public is there.

Indeed, good luck finding test pilots of his caliber. Most of original astronauts are gone and the few that remain are close to crossing into the final frontier.

They all have "The Right Stuff"
Gigabyte Z390 AORUS-PRO Coffee Lake R 9700K, 2x16GiB of G.Skill RIPSAW DDR4-3600, Sapphire RX 6900XT, Seasonic GX-850 and Fractal Define 7 (W)
Ivy Bridge 3570K, 2x4GiB of G.Skill RIPSAW DDR3-1600, Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Corsair CX-750M V2, and PC-7B
