It is getting around. Was just posted at our tech forum (TechIMO). This is most definitely a classic. And expertly documented. Well done leor. ;)

Not only will this story make the rounds in the tech circles but that bird is going to have one whopper of a story for his friends as well. Of course without photos it's doubtful they'll believe him. :D

BTW leor, here's a bit of info you may or may not already know. If you do know this then just ignore my comment, but if you don't then it may be interesting...

Your cat Mittens is not a Siamese. He is a Snowshoe. Snowshoes have only fairly recently been officially recognized as a purebreed cat. They are rare. I only know there is such a breed because not too long ago somebody told me I had one. ;)

Hey it's Outpatient. I haven't been to techimo in a very long time (under a different name).

Ooops, sorry it's a she. ;) Well, best as I can figure it out (and that's not all that well) Snowshoes can orginate from Siamese parents. If you're interested then here's a bunch of links. If nothing else do me a favor and read the one about Snowshoe personalities and let me know if that description fits Mittens or not.

Having http://bluesnews.com link this story I would have expected a lot more new readers. Maybe the registration was too much for 'em all. Wonder if Damage has logs to tell us how many reads this got lately.

This thread has had more views then even the "don't ya mean type" thread (which first started over a YEAR ago :o). I think it's been fairly well linked. ;)

This thread has ultimate potential for recruitment... We should use it somehow before it's too old...

I just received this e-mail:

Hello,

I read your post about the pigeon you found under your equipment (via Metafilter.com). Then, I read subsequent posts about poking at it with a broom and letting the cats take care of it. In the future, may I suggest http://www.pigeons.com. It's a web community full of people who love pigeons (yes, we do exist) who I'm sure would've been more than happy to help you with your problem (and given better advice than that involving brooms and cats).

Just a suggestion.

Gretchen
(pet pigeon owner since 2001)

I guess she didn't read to page 2.

Amazing the attention this story has gotten . . .

We need to make a pidgeon inside logo to stick on his boxes, instead of the usual intel or amd ones.

last week my mom was working on her computer in queens. she happened to turn arouns and there was a squirrel sitting quietly behind her looking at her.

She lives on the 7th floor . . .

I don't know what the story is with the animal life lately . . .

Maybe it's because of your quest to kill large aquatic animals.

leor, I think your server (or more likely your 'net connection) is buckling under the load...

At least when my forum thread got Inq'ed yesterday, the thread only had one photo in it, so my connection didn't get completely buried!
