Earlier in the evening: Church Street Helles and Oktoberfest, at a volunteers' meeting for the upcoming Midwest Brewers Fest.
Both were quite enjoyable. As we've done every year this fest has been operating, my wife, daughter, and I will be running the homebrew demo area at this fest. It's a lot of work (we have to haul in all of the equipment, brewing water, and propane tanks ourselves), but it is a lot of fun too. We get to spend the afternoon chatting with other beer enthusiasts while brewing, and get a couple of batches of homebrew out of the deal (the fest pays for the ingredients).
Drinking now: Deschutes Hopzeit Autumn IPA
A bit more malt character than a typical IPA, but still pretty hop-forward. They seem to be billing it as a Märzen/IPA hybrid, and I'd say they've mostly succeeded. The finish is just a touch astringent, but aside from that, no complaints.
On deck: Dogfish 90 Minute!
Picked up a 4-pack after it was mentioned here a few days ago. Haven't had any in months; looking forward to it.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
