Being British I was told by my mother never to use the word bloody. (I do if I'm bloody pissed at someone though.)

Mom's explanation was that it was in reference to the virgin mary's time of the month. Or as a more general quote a woman's time of the month.

So if you are jumping into bed with a woman and wake up to find that she met "Flo" during the night you could say "OH bloody hell"!

First 'bloody', now 'Hell', next they'll be banning words like '****', 'sht' and 'arse'....

Language is a strange beast. Its been ruled in Australia by the courts that you are allowed to tell a cop to "**** off" as the word **** has a lost its traditional meaning of "intercourse" and can now be swapped into colloquial language to replace other words.

It's funny over half the words in sentence can be **** and they all mean something different.

I'm sure the Parents Television Council will file complaints to FCC soon enough to get this banned in the US too.
