The voices of the Fight Club move trailer mashed up with Calvin & Hobbes imagery. It's the first time the whole muddled mess has made sense to me.

First recorded BMX triple back flip; this was recorded today (28 May 11). The first view is from the head cam and seeing the horizon come up three times is mighty scary.

Sean Young narrating her own home movie of the making of David Lynch's Dune. This was done before Sean Young went nuts, so it is watchable.

George Lucas Strikes Back

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BMgegut3UM

The premise is that the "real" Lucas was kidnapped and stuffed into storage after Return of the Jedi. This is 3 minutes of pure hilarity.

We all know the version of Hallelujah we saw in "Shrek". Many of mid-younger age might go past Shrek and think that it's a Jeff Buckley (son of Tim Buckley, who died far too young and I'll stop here) song as he played it often in his live gigs and his version is what's used in Shrek. This vid is of Leonard Cohen, who actually wrote the song. Unlike either Buckley he is no tenor and his gravelly bass, to me, adds to the emotion of the song. The fact that I sing in the same range has nothing to do with this recommendation.

Who am I kidding. Us basses get no respect and to sing along with Leonard Cohen in proper register was uplifting. You tenors get everything. Us basses get Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits.

Dr. J's highlights. In the '70s, even here in Celtics-obsessed Vermont, Dr. J was a god above reproach.

The latest Perpetuum Jazzile (a massive a capella group out of Slovenia, of all places) interpretation of a rock tune. Some may remember their version of Toto's Africa, but this year they went all the way to Van Halen and Jump:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy_cZCvXAuk

The old chorus geek in me sits in awe and wonder over what they can do with just their voices. When I was in high school chorus was a full period every day, so about 4 hours/week. For a group that large to be that tight the practice/rehearsal time must consume their lives.

EDIT: I've spent an hour or so on their YouTube vids. They've toured in the US, but nowhere near me. That must be remedied.

If they did tour in US, and came anywhere in the Michigan area... I'd so go see them too! It's almost like GLEE in a away with their GLEE-like singing and antics, but nonetheless - a very talented group!

These Daredevil Bridge Climbers Are Out of Their Bloody Minds! :o

These kids think that climbing the cables of the Moscow Bridge in Kiev is a lot of fun. And they are probably right. I'm freaking out by just looking at the video! :o

So I finally watched that entire video of these kids literally climbing the cables up this bridge to the midsection. too bad the video ends there. kinda wanted to see "how" they got down or if they went across the entire bridge to the other side... the guys rapid breathing and turning to take photos left me breathless at times! WOW! :o
