On the radio this morning they were saying He wants the next bond to feature an openly gay Bond, with gay love scenes, and what I can only imagine will be "Bond guys". I don't think this will fly. I sure don't want to see a gay bond.

YGBSM...

I doubt it would happen, but wow... that would effectively kill the franchise, methinks.

See!?! This is what happens when you make Bond a blonde! :D

No kidding. I can't believe they didn't make a bottle of dark brown hair dye a requirement for Craig.

I saw it on Thanksgiving Day, and I thought it was great. Until the end when they started stretching the movie. The last half hour really could have been done in five minutes. Otherwise, I thought it was great.

Except that anyone who knows Bond already knows he falls in love again in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, gets married, resigns from MI6, his wife is killed, and he comes back.

Just saw it this weekend...I was actually disspointed, surpring considering the positive reviews. No good car chase, no gadgets, and no evil villian planning to take over the world, it just wasn't bond. but it was a good movie otherwise

You're obviously not a fan of older Bond. THIS was Bond, the original way that it was portrayed. Not the techy-one liner Bond of Brosnan (And I'm not bashing that, I personally find the Brosnan era only second to the Connery era, though this guy, if he sticks around, might have something to say about that, based on this first one).

That is true...I grew up with Brosnan. That is how I see bond. Although recenty I have begun to get into some of the older bond movies, they still had car chases, and gadgets of some sort. And always a villian, maybe not as much as the later ones, but more so than in casino royal.

Moonraker is probably the most Austin Powers-ish Bond movie there is. It's fun to watch though.

Don't beat me up for posting in an old thread.
>.>

Just I found the transcript of Daniel Craig on Parky, since we were talking about the soppyness. Anyway..

Michael: And he is a different Bond, he's harder, he bleeds, he falls in love, he's much more vulnerable in that sense and much tougher in many ways too.

Daniel: Well because we have this fantastic love story, Eva Green who plays Vesper Lynd in the movie who is fantastic, it seemed to me that the only way to show that he was going to fall in love was to show that he made mistakes and that he screwed up a bit and that he didn't have a handle on life and that wanting to discover who James Bond is a bit later on in the movie and if we just sort of had this guy who is made of steel from the beginning then how could he have his heart broken.

Actually I happen to not have watched OHMSS, so I can somewhat accept the story. I just went in knowning it's supposed to be a "prequel", and everything sort of made sense to me.
