Casino Royale

Fri Nov 17, 2006 3:10 am

So I just got back from seeing the midnight showing. It was quite well done. Pretty solid action too. It was heartbreaking to see the car die :-(

I recommend it to anyone that likes the Bond series. It lives up to 'em, IMHO.

I'm excited about it :) Long-time Bond fan and I've been intrigued by Craig for a while now... the last one was much too silly for my tastes

There's something not right about Bond 1) not having dark hair, and 2) not driving an Austin Martin....but I will see this movie anyway. Looks well done from the previews.

I'm planning on seeing it this sunday.

I was orginally quite put out by them canning Brosnan, as I thought he was an excellent Bond. However, Daniels has recieved excellent reviews, and I saw a few people in the film review industry say he was Sean's equal. Plus the trailer looks good, so I'm excited for it now.
No matter how bad the new homepage sucks or how bungled the new management is...

To all the original writers/contributors and volunteers, please know that I have nothing but the deepest love for you and the work you've done.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll catch this one in the theaters.

Yes, but the screen is the size of a postage stamp, and the movies only run in black and white.

I lament the passing of Pierce Brosnan. He was an awesome Bond. We'll have to see... I'll probably go within the next couple weeks because my girlfriend gets all hot and bothered by James Bond. Well, she gets all hot and bothered by lots of things, but why not take advantage of a good thing. :-)

I like this guy better than Brosnan, personally. *shrug*

I don't know about that. He IS a decent actor, but his Bond movies seemed to be all about violence rather than any real hint of a storyline. Too much "rage against the machine" where the other Bonds were much more calm in going about their business.

I'll see it at some point. I always see the Bond movies. And no matter how bad this guy is, he can't be worse than Timothy Dalton.

Well, I haven't read any reviews, because I'm going to see it Sunday, but I will say this:

From the commercial I saw a few days back, this guy has got one hell of a body. I wish I had a body like that, then I could get some Bond girls as well

IIRC, they were thinking "Man, I wish Pierce Brosnan could get out of his contract."

Dalton was a decent enough Bond...He was better than Roger "Disco Stu" Moore, at any rate. The Living Daylights is good film. Licence to Kill...not so much.

Lazenby is another underrated Bond.

Aye, I think people don't necessarily give him a fair shake.

The Moore era got pretty excessive at any rate, although that wasn't necessarily all or even mostly on him.
