Makes sense from a biz point of view since their search engine hasnt done as well as expected. Almost seems like there would be a conflict of interest at some point..but what the hell..capitalism is great no

Meh..im just the opposite..while i dont hate MS..its a fine line. Yahoo started the whole search engine craze and have their roots deeply implanted in the web.

Edit: I forgot..it was Al Gore who got it all started

I dont really care one way or the other. The only thing that worries me is will Yahoo mesenger get even bigger and bloated than it already is ? every version gets worse and worse.

Seriously. Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo are about the two stupidest chat clients out there. They suck. They're crash prone and developers haven't tried to fix any of the crashes, rather they just add more, useless features. Ugh.

Oh, great. I use Yahoo mail. If MS mucks with it, I'll have to find another service

I hate MS.

I still use Yahoo IM version 5.x. Pre-bloatware, runs smooth as peanut butter.

This worries me only because Yahoo Mail is light years better than Hotmail, and I don't want to see it changed, since it's my primary permanent email account.

Maybe Trillian is better now than it was back it the day but when I tried it awhile back I absolutely hated the damn thing. It trys to roll like 5 chat programs into one which is fine but instead of doing one thing good it does 5 things half assed

That was my first thought. Also if they mess with Fantasy Football I will have to show up at Bill's house and have a talk with him (also beg for money).

My Windows Live Messenger has not crashed once since I started using it from the beta 2 days. I am now on the 8.1 beta and it has been working great. Not sure what you are talking about.

I use Gaim for all my Yahoo! chats. It also does my Google, AIM and IRC. :)

Also check the date of the article, May 2006. Old news. I do not think they have made any more progress in it.

Damn, I didn't even think about Yahoo's fantasy sports. I doubt that they'll mess with it, but if they do, they will rue the day. Oh, how they will rue.
Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it.

Or the opposite. My girlfriend can access our home email server from work with no problem. But her Yahoo mail is blocked.
