best workout & gym trax for my ipod?

Sun Mar 30, 2008 12:17 pm

... I need new music: mostly for running but also for a full gym workout... I need some suggestions as I'm tired of listening to the same old stuff. I tend to buy stuff on itunes, not really wanting to mess my computer with the pirate programs.......

Hello. Have you tried Google? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=music+to+run+by

There's tons of recommended playlists out there. It really depends on your musical tastes, but generally anything with a medium fast beat is good for working out. That generally means poppy or dance/club type songs, but not always. Some of the songs I've seen range from Eye of The Tiger to Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence. The theme from Rocky is one of my favorites. :)
I'm not altogether on anyone's side, because no one is altogether on my side.

I usually work out to the Dethalbum by Dethklok.

Nike actually commissioned the Crystal Method to do a set of tracks intended to be used in sequence for warm-up / workout / cool down. I actually think their album "Tweakend" is better for that purpose.

You have to like Techno, of course (or at least find it good "white noise" for a workout).

FTW. I actually saw Dethklok (Brenden Small w/ backing band) perform at the U of M last year. It was awesome.

I don't really think there is a "best" music list for working out. Everyone has different songs which get them pumped up. For me, whenever I need to get in the "zone" (either working out or before baseball/frisbee/dodgeball games) I let some Hendrix and The Who blast.

for workout music I recommend european dance music....

it's ALWAYS the best motivational tool for me...

.....and you don't have to tell anyone at the office if u just listen to it on the mp3 player at the gym....

There is a podcast called Podrunner that is designed specifically for listening while running. New podcast every week and they usually come it at about an hour each. The dude running it usually mixes it in three parts so you aren't listening to the same thing for the entire hour. They're not bad, especially if you don't want to mess with your iPod during your workout.

Go into iTunes, hit the store link and follow the links for podcasts. You'll find it.

Dir en grey's track Increase Blue off the VULGAR album has always been good to me.
