I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and he said he'd heard that an old friend of his has had one of her songs included in GTA4. This kind of makes her famous (since her track is going to be heard by millions of people) and since this person is "famous", my friend is also, by association, "famous".

(here's her (shudder) myspace http://www.myspace.com/deluka, the song is called "Sleep Is Impossible" BTW)

Anyhow another example...

A photo of my sister's car once appeared in a national newspaper, which makes her "famous".

(she had it parked in Liam Gallagher's drive and some hack found that funny... well I suppose a very clapped out 1984 skoda did look a little out of place in front of a multi million pound pile in London)

So has anyone else got any good tenuous claims to fame. Actually being famous doesn't count, this is anti celebrity people!

There was a kid at my highschool who, after graduating, wound up on megan's law for downloading kiddie porn on an AOL account of a family he was living with. Nothing comes to mind for me personally though. Unless you count this.

My former roommate's brother was fragged in Damage's 9600GT review.

hmmm more a tenuous claim to infamy that one... pretty good though!

Two chicks in the grade above me in HS were on two pretty popular shows. One of them played Ralphie's stripper girlfriend on one episode of the Soprano's (the one where he beats her to death at the end of the episode), and the other one was on one of MTV's spring break undercover shows...I think around 2002. Other than that, haven't had any brushes with fame...except for this forum, of course.

I went to high school with the lead singer for Jacksoul. He was almost killed in an accident about 8 or 9 months ago in Toronto.

Just thought of another one for me!

The guy who fixes my car was the mechanic on the Johnny Depp remake of charlie and the chocolate factory... When the filming finished I asked my girlfriend if she'd like me to try and get her the car with J.Depp's buttock crease in the seat... she said she liked him, but not that much.

I ran into Heidi Klum and Seal in Reykjavik when I went to Iceland a few years back. Seriously, instant stiffie. (induced by her not Seal you asses)

The older sister of a guy I knew in high school posed for Playboy (while we were still in high school). Can't remember the month/year, sorry.

One of the people in my AEM class posed for Playboy. I don't believe she ever had a class with you though.

A girl I went to high school with apparently ended up being a soap opera star of some note. Her name was Stephanie Gatschet.

Oh yeah, and Obama had his arm around me a month ago. I think that's about it though.

Edit: I also played chess once wth Jennifer Shahade at the same school. She's some kind of female chess genius. Yeah, I got destroyed.

I **** my nappy in front of Princess Anne once, so my parents take pleasure in telling me. It was on a parade of soldiers and their families, apparently she skipped my parents because of the smell.

My first cousin once removed(or something like that) was married to Dean Roland of Collective Soul.

Dave Matthews of Dave Matthews Band grew up in the same town as me and went to the same schools.

Someone in my grade used to do a lot of acting and got onto an episode of Law and Order. He also did a bunch of voiceovers for Trix and Goyurt (spelling) commercials).

My cousin dated Ted Nugent when they were both in high school.

Our RV made from a school bus gets in the paper once or twice a year.

The porn star Randy West (google him) is an old roommate of mine. His real name is Roland Duane Gaulden III. He must be about 60 now, but is still making movies.

I forgot. I see David Ogden Stiers (Major Winchester in M*A*S*H) a couple of times a year. He lives in a town near me.

My cousin's best friend is one of the subjects of an HBO movie (or miniseries, dunno) & the book it was based on, called _Generation Kill_. He's Josh Person, the obnoxious hyperactive Humvee driver.

A woman I go to church with did secretarial work for the first President Bush. That's all I got.

My wife hugged Jason Isringhausen at the Cardinal caravan in 2004. Because my mom told her to.

Edit: I didn't realize the names here were so explicit. I guess I should have. IMDB ron jeromy if you want to see it. He's got over 1000 acting credits, and over 100 directing credits.

RJ has really gone downhill since entry number 49. Sad but true.

My sister owns the house (just a few doors down from my parents' house, BTW) where David Franzoni grew up. I knew David while growing up, most memorably when he started a small fire in the house while "making candles" (so the story said).

Even more tenuously, I can get to Kevin Bacon in 3 steps. I worked summer camp with a guy who was in one of Ally Sheedy's classes at USC, and she had a cameo (as herself) in She's Having A Baby.

I got my name in Skin & Ink magazine in April this year. It's with a picture of my wife's tattoos, cause I'm the artist.

EDIT: Remembered another. My great uncle Don Kaiser played pro baseball for the Cubs in 56-57.
