Veteran's Day 2009

Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:26 am

Happy Veteran's Day to all present & prior Gerbils of our Armed Forces!

Thank you again for your service to the United States of America. We couldn't do it without you.

So... who's stuck at work today? Sigh.

What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Why just the USA? Around the world in many countries Remembrance Day is observed as well. I'm wearing my poppy now.

I would be at work, but am disgustingly sick. We were planning to do something for the two veterans that work there too.

Here's to all of you that have in the past and those you who are currently serving in any arm of the military. Your service & dedication to your country is appreciated and you get a boat load of respect from me.

I'll be sure to raise a pint in your honour tonight.

I never noticed Veteran's Day was soooo late in the year, too late to even bust out the bbq. :(

see, I'm not a veteran, so I don't feel like I should have the day off. It'd nice for vets to get it off though.

I forgot it was Veteran's Day when I woke up yesterday.

A-10 Warthog flying over my house was a nice reminder. 8)

It's never too late. I know people who BBQ in the snow.

My dad used to use the grill in January...in the rockies, at 8500 feet or so. There's no such thing as too late to grill!
