As many of you know my adopted daughter is from a village in Malawi, Africa, and her village is in pretty rough shape. I entered a contest with rogers on facebook ( i know, i know) to win $25,000 for using towards an "experience". i said i wanted to experience her family having clean safe water, and anyway, their panel selected my entry as a top entry and now it's open for voting. I realize not everyone of you loves me, or rogers, or Facebook, but if you could help my daughters village, it would be awesome. I realize the sentiment around here in regards to facebook, and can appreciate it. This would save real lives, and tangibly improve the lives of some of the poorest people in the world. I have a lot of respect for this community, and hope some of you will be able to help out! if you're a facebook hater, maybe you could ask friends who do use it? My "story" is currently in 28th, under the name "Josh P." and the URL is https://www.facebook.com/Rogers/app_103139599851953 i realize it wants you to install this stupid app, so i appreciate any thing you can do.

Thanks guys,

Josh Pozzolo

I tried to vote, but have just discovered my trusty Facebook account has lapsed (that's how much I like Facebook).

I forwarded this to my GF (who's on FB). She tried to download the app, but then couldn't figure out how to access the entire entries or vote. I'll look at it later to see if perhaps she's missed something, but are there any more explicit instructions you can provide?

I'll check when I can get on Facebook.

You might be able to find someone at Water.org that might be able to swing some more votes your way. They're good for that.

SSK... normally I'd have some snarky quip here, but in this case I'll actually try to get on FB and do this since it really is worthy cause. You earn an upthumb on this one 8)

OK! it seems that rogers creates apps as well as they provide service! it's crap!

you seemingly have to refresh it a ton until it prompts you for "show all content" and then, and only then, can you vote. I really wish they did a better job, it sucks saying "vote for this, but it's horrible, and it takes work". i'm up to 10th guys, please, please keep on trying!

the contest continues for another week, and voting is daily, so i appreciate everything you're doing!

OK. She was able to vote after switching browsers. Apparently it didn't work well with Chrome.

the link should take you to a facebook page with a bunch of colored tiles. it will only let you vote if you show all content. might need to be refreshed, (possibly more than once :( ) but please, it's worth it!

it seems to only work AT ALL (and still with issues) in IE.

awesome! thanks cynan! see if she can vote daily for the next week!

And thanks! i'm up to 10th!

You're up to 8th now.

I've tried and tried, with no success in either Chrome or IE. I'll give it a go again later.

Also, for the record, your cause is far more just than some of the ones ahead of you- Travelling to see a Formula One race somewhere in the world verses providing water to an entire village?

Oh well, JUST KEEP VOTING GERBILS :)

Safari works, Chrome is no good. Can't speak for others, but knowing these devs.... I.E. might work if you don't wanna install FF (Can't believe I just recommended IE for something :()

Tried Chrome - no luck. Tried FF - cookies disabled, Facebook didn't let me log in.
Tried IE, no luck first (looked a LOT like chrome), but at some point asked if I wanted to download unencrypted content (this is a https:// site), I said yes, and THEN it finally worked.

So, one vote for you - more whenever I remember to revote. I wonder if Chrome would work with unencrypted content enabled...?
