Note: this thread is for contest entries only. If you would like to discuss the contest, please post in the comments section of the contest announcement on the main site.

In collaboration with Cooler Master, MSI, Kingston, and Newegg, we're giving away loads of hardware as part of our spring cleaning contest. Over $1500 in loot is up for grabs, and you can read more about the prizes in our introductory post on the contest.

To enter, all you have to do is post a picture of a PC in need of spring cleaning. The machine doesn't have to be your own, and props are permitted. However, the picture must be your original work. The image should be no wider than 800 pixels, and it must include your user name, the current date, and "techreport.com" on a piece of paper. (Photoshopping those details into a photo is not acceptable.) Only one entry is permitted per person.

Here's an example to get the creative juices flowing:

Contest regulations
Sorry, but this contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada (except Quebec) only.

Only one entry is allowed per person.

We will be accepting giveaway entries until April 21, 2014 at noon CDT, at which point this thread will be locked. TR staffers will then confer and select a winner from among all eligible entries. The winner will be announced on the site on April 23 and will also be notified via private message in the forums. The winner must claim his prize within 72 hours, or he will forfeit his prize, and we will draw a new winner.

All contributions must include the contributor's forum username, the date the picture was taken, and "techreport.com" on a piece of paper inside the image. Those details cannot be added using photo-editing software after the picture is taken. Entries that do not meet this requirement will be disqualified. We also reserve the right to disqualify entries that are apparent attempts to game the system or circumvent the rules in any way.

The staff of The Tech Report and their immediate families may not enter the giveaway and are not eligible to win.

No purchase is necessary. This giveaway is void where prohibited by law. TR, Cooler Master, MSI, Kingston, and Newegg are not responsible for any taxes on the prizes, damage in shipping, damage caused by using the prizes with other products, or health issues such as repetitive strain injury, eye strain, or chemical addictions that may result from prolonged use of the prizes.

I know I can't win since this isn't a recent photo and it's long since been cleaned. Came in to my bench quite a few years ago now, 6 month old(at the time)HP/Compaq Prescott P4 system with a green shroud directing airflow over top of the heatsink. Best part was the rest of the PC was near pristine from lack of additional intake fans. Hope someone else finds something equally comical.

There is one winner for all prizes? Or multiple winners with one prize each? Multiple SSDs to the same winner seems redundant, for example.

Here's my filthy entry, I'm embarrassed it was this bad. Thank you for the excellent excuse to get off my butt and make my PC happy for a few weeks!

My build from my campus dorm room. These dorms tend to create a lot of dust problems so I clean it out every other week because of the build up. Just cleaned her up Sunday actually and she already has a nice layer of dust...

It may not be that good of quality of a picture, but, it still has the little card thing and stuff. Had the computer for YEARS yet still can't afford a new rig. Neither a good phone or camera.

this is my rig. I am very proud of it. I keep it well maintained, built it on a budget, and is my first build. I just recently upgraded the psu about a year or so ago and updated the graphics card about 3 months ago. there is not that much dust but that is not for the lack of effort. I live in a really old dorm building so I need to keep up with the dust other wise I'd go crazy. The dust filters do a pretty good job of keeping the dust out. Also if you look closely you can see my gremlin who protects my computer from viruses. If something goes wrong I blame him. :D

Also! Good Luck Everybody!

Ouch... mine is so bad... I've got Trolls breeding inside.

At least my trusty Sentry Turret should keep them from getting at the cake...

On the paper is a clump of dust i just rubbed off the outside just this morning. I have 2 cats so it builds up pretty quickly. I actually cleaned it out maybe a year ago, so its not looking as bad as it did then. Still, Its an old rig at 5 years old.

note the crusty dust on the left fans then on the extreme right. One time i tried cleaning some bits of this rig, but found the dust actually was caked on. I couldn't remove it, so i just left it. Otherwise it seemed like it needed some kind of liquid cleaner to remove, which I wasn't willing to apply to my computer innards.

I finally pulled out the old suitcase computer :)
I cleaned out all the cobwebs about 4 months ago. Had I known they would have helped, I wouldn't have touched them, but oh well :P

I'm a middle school tech teacher and we use this to edit videos. Definitely need to give her a good cleaning after seeing this. Good luck to everyone though! Could use some upgrades for my home gaming rig!

Sorry for the absolute horrible camera (and handwriting!) I used my iPod touch 4th gen.
This is a Wang PC-382. I've done a bit of research. There isn't much out there.
Still figuring out how to post an image, so here it is on Imgur. Kinda new to forums themselves.

This PC was my first build from 2002. After several new hard drives over the years it still boots into Windows XP. It's a P4 with 2 gb of Ram. It also has a cobweb in the corner for getting rid of bugs!
