Just curious of who does what around here and what your opinion was on these programs!

While SETI is very entertaining, it isn't actively working to cure today's problems. FAH is pure research, and will undeniably pay off in the long run. Valuable data has already been derived from the research, and there's no end in sight.

Yeah, aliens are cool, :P but folding gives actual, tangible, results.

Folding could save someone's life. Enough said.

Another vote for folding, of course I might be a bit biased :D

At The Tech Report, we do RC5-72 and Folding@Home.

Used to do SETI, it was neat, but the chances of finding something at those specific frequencies and at a high enough power to reach us is almost NIL. While I would love to be a part of finding life outside of Earth, especially intelligent life (can I drive your ship?) I don't think we will find them, they will find us, if they haven't already. If it is an advanced society, they probably aren't even using radio frequencies, but something different and way beyond our technology to receive and understand.

At least with Folding, it is tangable, real, and every CPU cycle counts to a result and will be used rather than thrown out.

I prefer folding, as the results are more likely to be seen in my lifetime. The idea of SETI is fascinating, but if something concrete is ever discovered, what will we do ? Send a message wait a few hundred years for the reply ? That's no way to have a conversation !

The bottom line, however, is that you should do whatever you like with your CPU(s) !

Folding may save a few lives, but Seti might save the entire human race!

...

Or not.
So how fast is your car, anyway?

Oh, about 1200mhz.

As slymaster said, it comes down to personal preference.
