Dishonored 2

Fri Nov 18, 2016 5:04 pm

Anyone playing this yet?

I played the crap out of the first one, so I did something that I don't do very often, I pre-ordered it.

So far its a lot like the first game, some refinements and twists on some of the powers, gorgeous graphics and I have not been plagued by any of the bugs I see people complaining about.

Seems like a solid game, but I am only 8 hours in so far.

I've got 14 hours in it.  It's as solid as the original, with lots of little new gameplay tweaks that I've noticed.  The difficulty level is perfect I think.  Some of the locales are really stunning, and I'm enjoying learning more about their imaginary world.

Performance could be more consistent but it's not bad. TXAA could be less blurry too. ;)

My wife picked it up for me for my birthday, yesterday. I downloaded it last night but didn't get a chance to try it yet. Any tips for a Dishonored newb?

(I didn't play the first Dishonored but heard it was quite good)

Play the tutorial and pay attention, remember there are several ways to get to your goals, save often and don't be afraid to reload if something goes bad, its fun to find a different way around where I just got my ass kicked.

Its a game where save scumming isn't bad. (also since you cannot replay missions for whatever reason the devs decided against that. Create a save before each one. :/) And yes exploring does pay off!

Sounds really cool to me. I think it should try it out!

I think you want to have >8GB RAM for this game. I'm seeing bad slowdown on my 8GB system after it's been running the game for awhile.  I saw 90% system memory usage.

Audio?
I don't seem to get any directional sound at all.
I definitely don't notice any sound occlusion.
The guard on the other side of a two foot thick stone wall
sounds like he is in the room with me. Really make me
sweat when I have no idea where the foot steps are coming from.

Disappointed that I have not been attacked by even one blood fly.
Loved the rats and infected in the first game. Not seen anything like
that yet.
Just got to the third area.

Thanks,
