I'm probably going to go out on a limb here and say it is an issue with PS2, mostly because the terrible programming at times.

So it was working fine prior, wanted to give Creator update a shot and see gaming mode in action. Now Planetside 2 crashes once pushing Play Game. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared all leftover files for the game. Deleted all of the various .ini files and validated game assets (from PS2 launcher). No lots of the usual browser listing an error code.

Just a heads up for any other PS2 gamers out there, or perhaps any Day Break games such as EverQuest incase the issue is with their launchers and Win 10 Creator update.

Defiance is apparently also having issues.

I've noticed issues in the Insider Previews with Glyph flaking out hardcore but I assumed it'd be taken care of by launch. Don't know if it's the same problem Ps2 is having or not of course.

I'm kinda not surprised given how ancient their game engines are, but still figured they'd be on track to make sure their games work with upcoming changes.

Planetside 2 was listed actually as one of 88 games with extra support under the Creator update for the Game bar feature.

Just making sure, I disabled windows AV and firewall, disabled all of the game mode functionality and still no dice. Whatever the issue is it's something that has to be patched. Also, updated AMD graphics drivers to the latest ReLive, even though I was already up-to-date prior to this last driver.

No surprise. Going to try PS2 on this new Ryzen 1700 system with a fresh Win 10 Creator update and see if it has the same issue to rule out a few things.

If you have games having problems with creators update try this:

Download the Media Feature Pack for Windows 10. Make sure you grab the one specifically for Creators update. link

Read through the update notes. Not sure what in that pack would fix a no launch situation for a game. Unless their was an intro video/media that relied on one of those tools. Reminds me of games like Call of Duty relying on BINK for video on startup back in the day.

If you happen to have RTSS running, make sure to set the detection level to none. Maybe it won't fix it but I had some problems with RTSS since the Creators Update. They'll probably update the app in the future, but for now, either set your detection level to none or just close it (along with Afterburner).

Win10CU has made one of my drives disappear...none of my software can detect it, not even my Paragon disk management suite. So pissed at MSFT again.

I know it's crazy. It doesn't even list anything game related. Trust me, try it.

I'll give it a go. Also running MSI Afterburner... is this a known issue with Creator update (afterburner)?

Someone else finally had the same issue . Going to try this update now.

I suspect as much. Best to just turn off Afterburner and RTSS to see if it is the root of the problem before updating it.

Diagnosis 101: Bring EVERYTHING back to 100% stock. No OC, no mods, no hacked drivers/BIOS, no nothing.

I don't even game, but this has been DIAG 101 for OS issues since Jr. Damage sported a plastic screwdriver.

It was RTSS, updated to 7.0.0 Beta and works fine.
