HDMI switches for gaming LAN parties

Wed Jun 06, 2018 7:28 pm

Would like to host a party with 5 PC’s, Xboxes, PS4’s and a 1080p projector. Would like to switch between the 5 HDMI inputs to the projector depending on where the best action is. The Fosman switch I have now from Amazon gives a little 1 second hitch with a blank screen when I switch to an older machine with a GTX 660 and Windows 7. Obviously this 1s hitch is unacceptable for games FPS games. Newer machines with Windows 10 and GTX 1060 or better have much less of a hitch (but it’s still there). Is this a switch, windows version, or graphics card issue? Wanted to know where to spend my money first.

You might want to look into an active HDMI switch that maintains an active communication with all inputs and can switch much faster.
They can be pricey though. For example Crestron.
