Retro games you'd like to see remade

Thu Aug 19, 2004 1:56 am

We've seen Battlezone, Prince of Persia, Doom, Sinistar and a few dozen others

What other old games would you love to see remade?

I'd be a sucker for a re-make of Elite, that was an awesome game.
Also Raid over Bungling Bay could be interesting.
So how fast is your car, anyway?

Oh, about 1200mhz.

AUTODUEL kicked so much ass....I loved that game so much on my Commodore back in the day. That's the #1 game I would love to see remade. They could do a great job too at it too I think...

Xevious.

It was a coin-op game, but I would love to see that re-done for a console or PC.

Another game I would like to see remade is Battle of Britain:Their Finest Hour. It's an old LucasArts flight Sim that had the right combination of Sim and arcade.

Age of Wonders was sort of a master of magic remake, of course, it wasn't nearly as good.

How 'retro' do these games have to be?

pete-roth - How much would you buy that remake for?

Makes me want to dig out Loaded for the PSX. When you think all day at work, mindless shoot-em-up games can be the most fun.

Add another vote for Bionic Commando. That game has sooooo much potential for updating.

Another vote for Smash TV. Such a pointless, violent, but fun game :)

My other vote goes to Syndicate. I loved that game.

I guess how retro are we talking?

One-on-One with Larry Bird and Dr. J
Fast Break on NES (Not the EA junk of NBA LIVE etc...)

Ironman 4x4 and that other Indy style game similar to the Ironman 4x4

Bard's Tale (I guess this really doesn't count since it IS being re-done - kinda)

Mission Impossible
Rastan
Racing Destruction Set
Blood Bowl
Raid Over Moscow

Streets of Rage 2 was the pinnacle of SOR...and a remake of this would be incredibly welcome.

Someone's finally gotten around to remaking Shining Force for the GBA, but what I'd like is a collection on either Xbox or PS2 of Shining Force 1, 2, CD, and 3 (all three scenarios)...I'd pay $100 for it, easily.

None of these are really "old" games though, all 1992-1998.

I'd love to play a remake of Space Quest 3, as that was my first graphical text adventure. Also, Pirate's Cove for the Commodore VIC20 was a great game I'd like to see redone.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

I'd love to see them remake the original System Shock with a modern engine. That game had an awesome storyline. I was hooked on that game for months.
I wish I had gone to med school.

Game called Nomad from papyrus. I loved that game. Was a space kinda privateerish game. It would actually work out well as an MMORPG...
