Your Favorite Final Fantasy Game?

Fri Aug 12, 2005 11:38 pm

Mine would be 3 and 7. In 3, every chracter has a story to tell either about going after Kefka or their personal life. Every Chracter has a unique move like King Edgar, he can use "tools" Best tool for him would be Air Anchor or Chainsaw. Offering+Genji gloves+Ragnarok+Atma wpn+Paladin Shield = PWNAGE. Anyone have any opinions of any FF games? Would glad to hear it :D

Does Chrono Trigger count? If it *must* be a Final Fantasy in name, then 5. Which you didn't list. Both 10 and 9 suck balls.

FF3 still my favorite. If they remade it I would still play it again. Since FFVII the series has gone a bit downhill for me. FFX was alright but I never even finished X2.

I voted for Final Fantasy VI. I like FFVII, but still..... I like FFVI more. Probably because I played it first, and it wasn't a hassle to get running, unlike the PC version of FFVII.
EDIT: hey waitaminute... how do you get Edgar's Air Anchor?

I've only played 2, 7, and 8 so my experience is limited, by out of those I like 7 the best. The whole junction system in 8 was too complicated and poorly explained in the game. Maybe the manual explained it more but the used copy I bought didn't have one.

On the other hand, the materia system in 7 was easy to learn but had alot of complexity built in for more advanced stuff.

I liked 6 and 4 the most..played both of those through multiple times. I can not say the same about the rest.

I started playing at VII. I started loving the story after the girl died.

Didn't like VIII too much even though they tried to use true-to-size characters.

Hated monkey-boy in IX.

Didn't care much fro the story in 10 (even though it was pretty deep - a dead boy trying to impress his ultra-dead father?) but finally talking and BlitzBall was seriously addictive. Almost as bad as arcomage in M&M 8

They are bringing out a whole bunch of FF7 stuff this next year....I have even heard rumors that they are re-releasing FF7 with updated graphics and more story sometime in the next 2 years.....

I have fond memories of playing FF on the NES, and FFII and FFIII of the SNES. I played FFVII on the computer (looked really good on the Voodoo 1 card) and never finished it. It just became boring to me about halfway through the game.

FFIII was fun and difficult at times, but I give FF my vote because of its game length (damn long game) and the memorable gaming experience I had from it.

Anyone want to start a Phantasy Star poll? :D

I will be all over that one. I keep watching the FFVII technical video on Gamespot website and think they can go far with that remake.

Phantasy Star all the way, way better series but got less press because Sega systems went downhill fast!

A little too serious and complex for me...I'm more the Disgaea/La Pucelle/Phantom Brave speed. :D

For me, it's III hands-down. Favorite all time. It had it all: killer story, great visuals, classic gameplay, and unbelievable music. The variations and arrangements done on said music (like the Terra/WoB theme on 20020220 or the Black Mages remake of Decisive Battle or the entire Piano Collection, espeically Kefka's theme) are equally astounding.
