Sin: Emergence

Sat May 13, 2006 6:18 pm

So it's not too bad, in fact, it's remarkably well re-fined, the action is intense and relentless with no time to breath except between battles. I played it sporadically over 3 days and it kept my attention all the way through.

Who cares about the dated HL2 engine?! Gameplay gameplay gameplay is all that matters. I found myself making use of the physics engine much more than I did in HL2, and physics just seemed to be better executed.

The story leaves enough thing's happening that you do look forward to the next installment.

Pity there's no MP yet, but I understand there'll be an arena mod coming out sometime.

Yea, it's pretty cool. I haven't played all the way through yet, though. I'm not one of these people that just runs through a game in a day. What's the fun in that?

Granted, I need a system upgrade but there are points in the game that make my system jump around quite a bit. It's time to invest in a major system overhaul.

Pre-ordered it. Lacks in different types of enemies but still pretty fun. And no stealth levels this time around.

Is it just me or is this game HARD ! ?

It auto ramps up the difficulty.... I was enjoying the one shot kill head shots until the game adjusted and now everybody wears helmets.......

This game is just overall MUCH harder than HL2 or Quake4 or FEAR.

Yeah the bit-tech review mentioned the adaptive difficulty engine. That may help people like me who can't play FPS well...

Dated? If you say so.

I was playing yesterday and now I seem to be stuck. I got to this point where I dropped down into a sewer kind of area and can't seem to go anywhere from there. There is a pipe running across the water that I can jump up on but can't seem to find anywhere to go from there. No ladders or anything. I wasn't feeling very well last night anyway so I might have just missed something. I'm going to try again this evening but if anyone has any pointers.

Maybe by "dated" he means "good looking and efficient," something which seems to be completely absent from more "modern" game engines. :D
