Been playing more Nuclear Throne. It's the most addictive game I've found since FTL. It's a twin-stick shooter with RPG elements, but it has that property of a fair roguelike where you always know what killed you and how you could have avoided it.

Homeworld Remastered, for about the last two hours. I don't even like RTSes, and I'm pretty sure I'll be remembering this among the best games ever made.

XCOM2- they finally added XBox controller support, so I can play it on the couch. Fantastic game so far.

Yep. Homeworld 2 is good, but the original is stunning. It's one of the few games that I've gone back to play through again every few years.

I've been engrossed in the Open Source Endless Sky recently, which scratches my old EV Nova itch without installing a vulnerable version of quicktime.
Also: shedding MMR in DOTA 2. :(

Recently finished Oxenfree for the first time. Great game, very atmospheric, versimilitudinous dialogue (for one thing, it doesn't use words like 'versimilitudinous'), great music, lovely art. Might try for some alternate endings sometime, but Overwatch Season 3 starts today, so...

Mostly Overwatch and CS:GO at the moment because I'm way into competitive shooters

Blundering my way as best I can through TIS-100. I know nothing about programming at all but damn if this isn't a challenging and engrossing game.
I also need to get through the Talos Principle, CONSORTIUM, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and Pathologic (HD). I have a bad habit of stopping games when I like them too much because I don't want the experience to end... and then never going back and actually finishing them :(

I finally got around to playing the original Dishonored, and immediately played through twice. I wish I had played it sooner, and if I get the time, I'll hop into the sequel.

I am - it's hard to get work done when it's just waiting for me to hop back into my Scout and continue amassing loot while saving for something with many turrets.

Fiddling with a Raspberry Pi/RetroPie-based emulator box. Getting stuff dialed in is kind of a pain.

If you're not familiar, the Nintendo DS version (and only that version) of Civ Revolutions was an excellent advancement on Civ II:

The mechanics of Civ II, but also included more recent additions like national borders and culture. It's the little unknown gem in the Civ pantheon, I feel.

Currently playing my childhood. Set up a Raspberry Pi 3 with RetroPie and digging into long-forgotten classics like Final Fantasy III (VI in the rest of the world)

Spent almost as much on the 8bitdo SNES30 controller as I did the system.

Mainly a combination of Skyrim Special Edition and This War Of Mine, with brief periods of a few others mixed in there.

Are you using the SNES30 via Bluetooth? I have the same setup, and initially had serious problems with input lag. Going wired helped a bit, though not entirely. I got sidetracked and haven't really messed with it in several months. Hopefully it was a bug which was crunched in a later revision of RetroPie.

Yeah, connected via Bluetooth. In the Input configuration menu is an "input polling" option that is set to late by default, which I think is meant to improve performance at the cost of latency. I set it to Early and the default lr-snes9x core had no problem with it in the games I've tried. Super Mario World is much more responsive. It's still not perfect, but that's my TV. Plugging it into my PC monitor showed the lag was (if present) imperceptible. I'll live with a little lag on my office TV.

I'm mostly playing Final Fantasy III right now anyway. It doesn't seem to mind a bit.

This War of Mine is outstanding. Excellent choice.

Finished Final Fantasy III on SNES this morning. I don't know what it is, but for some reason the room always seems to get really dusty during the ending. Probably a mix of nostalgia and the music.

Picked up an XBOne recently and hammered through Banjo-Kazooie (Rare Replay). Still great, and looking forward to more in the collection.

I also picked up Forza Horizon 3, and that is a fun arcade racer. I have plenty of nitpicks (please stop trying to sell me the expansion, and microtransactions in a full-price game are unacceptable), but I still just enjoy racing around Australia and collecting cars. I let my wife play last night, and she spent about four hours just exploring, too. I think there's something good about this one...
