Mostly been playing FiveM.(it's a 3rd-party GTA 5 multiplayer server mod)
Tons of different servers to pick.

So much more fun playing with real-life cars in-game than the generic Rockstar cars.

Having a good set of headphones and a good microphone setup makes things far easier in-game.

Been playing Terraria. I started a new character and world and am about ready to fight the Wall of Flesh, but I'm dawdling by doing quests for the Angler and I still need to set up a farm for potion ingredients. This is the furthest I've gotten in this game without editing my save and I've had it since ~v1.1.

Just Cause 3 (or at least I'm trying to play it :x)

The devs that made this game deserve an award for their sheer laziness. The recommended system for JC3 includes 8 GB of ram, yet there are several memory leaks that cause the game to need 16 GB and crash with less. There is a aircraft missile upgrade in-game that makes a main story mission impossible to complete. Oh and worst of all, these bugs were existed at launch during 2015 and were never patched.

I played through the whole JC3 campaign plus its DLCs a couple months ago and didn't notice *any* bugs, let alone one that broke a mission. I can't speak to any memory leaks that would crash with "only" 8GB, though.

Are you running any mods? My install's clean except for one that lets you skip past the stupid loading movie.

That game can be a huge time drain :D

The first time I played through Skyrim I did just about everything you could do... I forget what my overall level was but I was playing a two-hand warrior and was pretty much maxed out on everything by the time I faced the main baddie... which turned out to be pretty anti-climactic given my level and gear at that point.

My biggest complaint about that game is that it scales so poorly... the game does spawn tougher enemies as you get higher levels, but it's easy to outpace what they can throw at you, and once you get to the high levels it turns into a cakewalk.

My favorite part of the scaling is at level 22 I can crush dragons, but get smoked by mammoths. It cracks me up.

One of the funniest moments I ever had in Skyrim, I had just finished killing an elder dragon - one of the random ones that pops up after you reach a certain level - outside some little village. Epic battle, must have gone on for ten minutes or so, but I finally bring it down. Turn around - and immediately get smacked in the face by a mountain lion. Dead.

Anybody play Human Fall Flat? Holy crap this game is weird. It's like QWOP meets an obstacle course/puzzle game/escape room. It's slowly-paced insanity. My daughter got it on her Switch on sale for $8, and I've been playing it tonight.

Hey
Currently, I am playing watchdogs from couple of days.
Its a nice hacking based game which allow player to hack all public controls like traffic lights, bridges and many more to explore with increasing game levels.

I think I forgot to add this, but I've been playing World of Warships on and off for a few months. I heard it described as "A thinking man's action game", and that is pretty accurate. Matches are permadeath, so proper positioning and planning are just as important as aiming/shooting. But this is a naval game, so shots travel a LONG distance. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you like a bit of history, too.
On second thought, let's not go to TechReport. Tis a silly place.

Enjoying the new Path of Exile: Delve, expansion. A lot of cool new abilities, good overall balance changes, and changes to poison mechanics. Only done of few delve dives so far and focusing on maps for the moment but I have enjoyed the delves I have done so far quite a lot. Playing a viperstrike pathfinder as my first character out of the gate but I have 4 other builds swimming in my head to test out once i find some of the gear for them.

Blizzard games in a nutshell. Seem simple on the surface, but incredibly detailed and nuanced once you get into them.

Has anyone here played Dying Light?
It's a first person zombie survivor game. I'd say it's the best zombie game I've played to date, although my list is admittedly short. But I'd easily put it above Dead Island which is the most recent zombie game I've played before Dying Light.

It's got:
Parkour running/climbing (much verticality)
Large variety of ways to kill zombies both melee with your body and weapons, ranged weapons, explosives, traps, etc etc.
Open world with variety of scenery and terrain
Weapon and tool crafting w/ upgrades
Search for supplies and new weapons
Lock picking
Some problem solving required to scale some terrain.
Changes in tactics/enemies for day and night
Player ability tree

I did most of the "published" side quests (other side quests pop up periodically, such as, protect this box-of-rocks as he/she runs across the map being a common one) and it took me a good long while to beat the game, which is nice that you get your money's worth. If I had to guess.... 70 hours or more(?) Some online sources are saying it's 80+ hours for full completion.

I'd recommend it if anyone is looking for an idea. Definitely stood the hair on my neck up a few times per session.

Finally got around to buying Witcher 3...

Never played the previous games in the series, so occasionally don't get the references to people and places... but they do a good enough job of filling in the gaps. Nicely built up world, inhabitants are interesting enough to drive the story. And I like that decisions have consequences that aren't apparent - often for a long time.

Combat is a bit over-simplified for the genre in my opinion... small hit, big hit, dodge or block for the most part. Have only seen one fight where I've actually needed to use magic.

I always find it annoying when they limit weapons and equipment by level; it seems especially pointless in this one because there really doesn't seem to be a whole lot of difference... might change as I advance to higher levels.

I don't think you've made it far enough if you haven't had to use magic yet.

Probably not... I just hit level 12 and there are quests in my list that are rated 20 and above... just last night some grave hag killed me in one hit while I was wandering around randomly :D

I actually like that the world is open and you can run into stuff that'll just wipe you out like that; keeps you on your toes.

Path of Exile. I played it years ago for just a few sessions but boredom of Diablo 3 drove me back to it. I started playing maybe 3 weeks before the Delve expansion and then started a new character in Delve. Fun so far, it is odd though in that it is a game where you either have to copy someone else’s build or spend quite a bit of time in the meta game planning out a build before you start because the skill tree is so large but also basically permanent. Basically it definitely isn’t newbie friendly but I think some of that is by design. Clearly any random character could get to part 2 at least, then that gained knowledge could be used to start a second (or third...) character that is significantly more functional. Ultimately though I think without using Path of Building you are severely limited in what you can plan out.

Yeah, you're not far enough yet. You can make it to level 30 and still get killed by stuff. I hope you get a chance to pick up the expansions. Hearts of Stone is, IMO, "fine," but Blood and Wine is really great. I couldn't believe how much content it added.

I just took a look at Steam's list of Top 100 games being played and noticed something odd. Not a single Call of Duty game in the top 100. Has COD finally run it's course?

COD has steadily gone downhill since COD4 Modern Warfare. IMO of course.

Fine. It'll still sell more copies than most games on Steam. The point wasn't that it was in the top ten at Steam but rather the number of people playing. But thanks!

More on topic, I'm still playing Overwatch because it's still amazing. They've made so many changes that have made the game so much better, and they continue to make quality of life changes that just make me keep coming back.

JRPGs are running rampant this fall and I couldn't be happier. Currently playing Valkyria Chronicles 4 and I'm looking forward to playing Shining Resonance Refrain (which I missed on PS3 before), Labrynth of Refrain (no relation), The List Child, and eventually Disgaea 1. Not to mention Spiderman is out on PS4 and I have a lot of NEW games that are interesting to me right now. For the first time in years, I don't know what to do first.

Is there anything there for a solo player? I could get in on this Humble Bundle but Overwatch hasn't even been worth thinking about.

I like the games style. I just don't think I'd ever care about the gameplay.

I mean, if you really love the gameplay then I think you could get into it solo, but it really is much, much more enjoyable once you get to know some people and hop around as a group.

It's a flat out FPS, but in typical Blizzard style there are a lot of pretty in-depth mechanics that make it interesting to me. Blizzard calls the classes Offense (primarily DPS and quick for the most part), Defense (a mix of DPS/AOE and still relatively quick compared to the Tanks), Tanks (self-explanatory I think), and Support (healers/other support functions). The interation between all these in a single game is pretty intense if you can get together with people that actually want to play as a team.

I think OW is a wonderful game, but again, it's primarily an FPS and it's mostly definitely a Blizzard game.
