New Bioware IP? (revealed)

Fri Jul 25, 2014 12:56 pm

So I've been a member of the Bioware community for some time now and today I was sent an email to a video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32bLpcBoxT8

So hmmmm. New IP I take it. But if it isn't a RPG i'll be sad.

Anyone know anything about this?

I got an email about "nightmare" something or other. Didn't get a chance to watch the video yet, though

Yes, Bioware (or more correctly EA) was spamming it whole day. Probably some "horror" BS with monsters/ghosts jumping out of closet or some cliche "conspiracy" crap which will target the previous and current generation's console hardware

Personally I am more intrigued by CD Projekt RED's "Cyberpunk 2077". I have no faith in Bioware making a compelling "AAA"-grade RPG with a "soul" anymore.

Haven't heard anything about it myself, but I'm always up for new IP.

I thought that the trailer looked interesting. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt but good horror is a tricky thing to pull off. And I don'T feel that the traditional Bioware gameplay mechanics would be a good fit to scare players. Still, let's wait and see.

Its called Shadow Realms. Set in a modern fantasy world is an action RPG. Has 4v1 gameplay, will be episodic, story driven, and is slated for PC. Made by BioWare Austin. And its in closed Alpha now.

Sounds interesting, I've always thought it would be a lot of fun to send someone's fantasy world a few thousand years into the future and see what happens. Online coop games don't really do it for me so hopefully there will be a well developed SP path. And then there's the whole Origin thing...
