Resources for gaming laptops information

Mon Oct 08, 2018 1:42 pm

What would you say are good resources for choosing gaming laptops? There are tons of generic blogs, but almost all are rubbish. Also, there are lots of site that review laptops, along with other stuff (techreport, techspot, anandtech, arstechnica) but it's hard to get a good overview of them all

1. I know https://www.notebookcheck.net/ for almost any information, but you have to do a lot of work to figure out what really you prefer
2. https://www.ultrabookreview.com/ always looked to me reliable and their reviews are short and clear
3. glj gaming laptops under $1000 list
4. Gnod visual laptops search - very cool idea

What's yours?

Mobiletechreview and Dave2D on youtube.

They check for CPU/GPU throttling, which many print/web publications still neglect to do, the video format makes it a lot easier to appreciate the design/physical features of notebooks, they do LCD gamut tests, and they also seem to get review units quite quickly.

I think many do test throttling, but almost none test the GPU clocks in various situations. notebookcheck and glj do test it in Furmark + Prime95, but that's not enough
