My new baby

Sun Jul 28, 2019 9:52 pm

So I recently copped one of these: https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-blade

Of course I went with full fat everything, OLED screen RTX 2080 and all that crap, but then I'm like 16gb of RAM and 512gb of storage?

Naw I'm like, 32gb DIMMS exist lets grab 2 of those and doesn't Samsung make some really fast storage drives? let's grab an EVO at 2TB and make this into a monster.

So I sock 64gb into that sucker and do that Acronis thing to clone the small drive onto the big drive and well **** the damn thing worked on the first try!

Don't u love it when that happens?

OLED 4k touch, it's unbelievable. I have been waiting for the perfect laptop with an OLED screen for years (I was debating this one or the Alienware M15, but I have an affinity to Razer).

Also I have 0 plans to ever touch that screen.

To me they're missing a window for a middle option. Either 2160p 60hz without VRR or 1080p 240hz w/ gsync. Where's the 1400p 120hz w/ VRR option? I will long-argue that 2160p on a laptop < 17" makes no sense. Too much graphical demand for gaming and unless you are sitting 30cm away from the screen, it adds no benefit.

I SORT OF agree with you. I like the 4k for a retina style experience while using my laptop, and I'm perfectly happy dropping to 1080p to play games. I don't feel like 1440p is necessary at 15" (maybe on 17"), and while VRR would have been nice, even at 60hz, the kinds of games I play (more cutting edge), probably won't sniff 100hz on laptop hardware.
