Laptop Boot problem.

Tue Nov 14, 2006 11:35 am

Recently I have been having a few issues with my Toshiba A70-S256. It started with the battery not charging fully due to a defective power socket on the motherboard. I have since carefully replaced the socket and now it charges fine yet a few other problems arose.

The largest of these problems is that the laptop does not boot. It will not boot with the battery fully charged and power cord unplugged, with just the power cord plugged in, or just the battery plugged in. Also once the battery has charged, if I unplug the power cord the battery looses its charge in a day.

I figure it is most likely that I have a short somewhere, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something else before I start chasing after another goose. :-?

Any ideas, or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
