Verizon Network Extender

Wed Feb 26, 2014 2:06 pm

Has anyone had any experience with a Verizon Network Extender? I'm moving into very rural area and I'm going to have to get one to make calls. Another question is could I buy a used one off of Ebay or are they unique to a Verizon account? It would be nice to save some money going used.

my first thought was that it was like the AT&T microcell repeater, but this different. Looks like these use your DSL/Cable to actually route the call to Verizon's network. They've got used ones up on Amazon and Ebay, so it looks like you own it, not Verizon.

My question is, since you're gonna be in a very rural area, are you gonna be able to get high-speed internet there? If not, this won't work.

Thankfully high speed internet is around so I'll just plug it into my home network and burn up my bandwidth.
