Anyone own a nVidia Shield tablet yet??

Sun Nov 30, 2014 5:42 pm

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here in the TR community has a NV shield Tablet and what you have though about it?

Since I cannot find a clear answer googling it.
My main question is can you stream games from your Nvidia based PC and use a mouse and keyboard to play the game being streamed from your home PC? I would think you would have to use a blue tooth keyboard and mouse but I do not know and that is why I am asking for 1st hand experience.

Reason for asking is I would only like to get one so me and the wife can be in the same room and she can watch TV while I game on the shield tablet and the only Google info I found with using a Keyboard and mouse was in console mode that uses the TV thus ruining the reason for wanting one.

If you are still interested in finding out, I can report back tomorrow. I just picked up a Shield Tablet today and I have an Asus G75 laptop with a 660M.

Well, I had some trouble with my BT keyboard... and I couldn't find my microUSB>USB adapter. But I did use my phone as a game pad and it looks like what you want to do won't happen. When I streamed a game from my laptop it acted just like the steam in home streaming. The game runs on the computer and is video streamed to the tablet.

The GRID service is pretty nice though. If you can get by with a game streamed over the internet, it's fun.

EDIT: I seem to have completely mis-read your post... Once I get my KB and mouse working I'll report back.
