Indeed.....at least on iOS 11. While interesting, I have to admit that I can’t remember even bothering to look at that setting for devices which aren’t logged in (at least in recent memory) because the info should theoretically get wiped when you delete the local cookie.
That’s not to say there aren’t reasons you wouldn’t want it saved (other users on the same device, etc). I offer no useful information.
