Hold on a minute, I didn't say that. But the cost of replacement is likely to be enough that most people will just opt to buy a new device...
Current battery replacement for my 2015 rMBP is $200. It's not "cheap", but I consider this relatively reasonable for a high-end laptop that can keep working another 2-3 years.
