I'll probably head over to the local reseller and get a copy next Friday. I haven't participated in the betas, but I'm looking forward to this release. To be honest, I was not that excited about the last one and I waited a bit until a few updates were made. This time, I'll probably get it early.

i'll probably see you there, Thresher. Unless Guitar Center in Peoria gets it, that is. My wife has been drooling over the pretties when I showed it to her last night. I haven't the heart to tell her it's probably going to run like **** on her iBook G4. It's the last of the G4's with the Radeon 9550 so it's got Core Image, but I don't expect great things for it.

Get wifey a new Macbook derfunk, she'll love ya for it

Not drooling over tech so much as drooling over pretties. She thinks Spaces looks cool and she's figured out how it's useful because she's sued virtual desktops on her iBook for a while via VirtualDesktop Pro ($40 well-spent in her opinion).

She'll eventually have to get a Macbook or something similar, but she's holding out for something smaller than current Macbooks, which are bigger than her iBook. The G4 is quite sufficient for what she does with iWeb, iTunes, and web/office stuff. Besides, she feels bad for me being Macless since the Mini went asplode and has given her full blessing to a Macbook or Macbook Pro once they ship with Leopard.

Thresher, I'll let you know, but I probably won't know until Thursday.

hmm..........8)

Gandhi, didn't you get your student discount on the family pack? or is it not available? you should have gotten the same sweet deal PerfectCr got.

PerfectCr, how many Macs do you have? I thought you just had the Mini. I think the Family Pack is the best way to go if you have a second one currently, but if you get one now, it's included so you could have saved some money and gotten just the single license...

If you constantly refer to PerfectCr as "daddy" and ask real nice, you never know... :D

That's not even remotely how the family license works. It would be no different from pirating it.

It kind of sucks. I bought my Mac Mini, I believe, the weekend of Sept 22. I went ahead and pre-ordered it from Amazon. I figure, what the hell. It's a better deal than buying it directly from Apple.

With my wife's aunt in town this week leaving at the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow morning, it doesn't look like I'll make it to get Leopard tonight. Boo!

I'll see if my sister can get it with her student discount, otherwise I'll just bite the bullet and get it retail.

So what is he really doing? Haha. What does N/A mean, not available, and who is doing that, a mod? It seems as though it's the same annoying thing "gratuitous" does to his comments.

Can we have a rule to not delete your own posts after someone has replied to it? It seems like a forum abuse to me.

wtf, linking to a specific post doesn't scroll down to that post anymore. I was linking to a specific post pretty far down that thread and instead it looked like i was just linking the first one because it didn't go down there...

That's where I'm hoping to get my iMac, though that won't be until December - the same people run the Computer Deli and I really like their service, and the Peoria Connecting Point fixed my wife's eMac back in the day not long before it closed. I'll end up missing you tonight because of family obligations, but I'll try and make it up on iMac Purchasing Day.

I'm assuming all Macs on sale after 6pm would have Leopard installed? Really itching to try it out.

I watched that video tour. I've read all about Time Machine but seeing it in action blew my hair back. That's a must-have feature.

Exactly the same sentiments as I watched that demo of Time Machine. I wish I had that feature back when I realized that I had deleted a large chunk of my digital photos. The wife was not a happy camper when I told her about what I did.. :(

I doubt that, but they should include either the Mac OS Up-to-date disc or some other way to get it installed...Apple has no excuse for not at least *including* Leopard with each Mac sold after today.
