Exchange support for Apple Mail/iCal/AddressBook is coming with Snow Leopard (I guess Apple is finally tired of MacBU's lack of emphasis on feature parity with Windows Office). Until then, you're stuck with Entourage for Exchange. :(

I have no idea if it's any good or if it will even work but if you're not using Exchange 2007, Evolution may be worth a crack. The OSX version is a couple of years old though.

Right now Entourage is your only choice on the mac. I've been using it on a daily baisis now for 2 years. It's just ok.. Entourage 2008 is definitely better than the 2004 version in terms of what it supports. If your company has Exchange 2007 in place, you can apply for the Beta of Entourage 2008 for EWS on the Microsoft Connect site. It is waaaay faster than the old WebDAV method and it actually synchronizes everything in your inbox : Notes, Tasks etc..

Adi,

I am glad you replied since my first question into alternatives; my company has been fielding more and more MAC's specifically unibody Pros. We have since applied for the beta and are in the process of kicking the tires on it. I can honestly say its a HUGE improvment over 2004 in our Exchange 2007 environment. The problem we have now is making it sync and cooperate with SharePoint. We have moved to SharePoint for our all-in-one intranet and portal. We also wish Apple had some kind of OneNote app. We have been kicking around Journler but we will see.

Heh, looks like your company is pretty much going in the same IT direction as my company. We have also recently replaced an old POS intranet that only worked with IE6 with Sharepoint and have found that there's is 0 integration available for the mac. MS has released an internal Beta of a new component for Office 2008 called : Document Collaboration Companion.

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/itpros/dcc.mspx

It was supposed to be available in a public Beta like the Entourage 2008 for EWS but MS changed their mind and it's only available in private beta. I've been looking for it everywhere as it would make my life with SharePoint MUCH easier as i wouldn't have to run a VM of windows in Fusion all the time..

They claim it should be available this year but knowing Microsoft.. well let's just say i won't be surprised if it gets delayed till next year or worse, till next version of Office for mac.

I'm not sure if you can get Sharepoint integration with Ent 2008, but it is a significant improvement over 2004. Why no Fusion or Crossover, even, in the work enviro?
