Is it possible to buy the Mac OS?

Is it possible to buy a Mac OS in a store or something other than actually buying a mac comp?

Yes it is. Walk into most majour computer retailers and browse through their Mac software dept. and you will find Mac OS for sale.

You also must realize that to run Mac OS, you need Mac hardware. It will not run on a standard PC.

You cant buy the OS in stores for your x86 processor. There is an upgrade version for people who already own macs.

Yes of course. OS 10.2, you can immediately upgrade to 10.2.6. Why you would though is beyond me- Panther is 3 bloody days away. 10.3 :D. I use OS 9.2.2 :( meh oh well =P

And you can run the Mac OS core on a PC- after all, it's built on Unix ;)[/b]

Yahoolian, just wanted to clarify. When you buy the MacOS, it is not an 'upgrade'. It is the full OS. Just a nit to pick.
