Can the PSU cause the PC to not sleep? powercfg -lastwake show nothing.

Basically if I select SLEEP option, it will power down, then power right back up.

Its a new build, as in new MB, same behaviour on previous MB. (I swapped MB for Micro ATX for new case)

PSU is from May: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6817438066

I suspect its the PSU, since fresh install of OS didn't change anything, and the power cfg also show nothing.. I've had sleep issues before but power cfg showed the culprit. I noticed now that PSU is not Haswell certified as well.

Make sure all of the "wake on xx" events are disabled in the BIOS.

Does it still happen if the network cable is unplugged?

All wake is disabled in BIOS, and also doesn't sleep with network cable unplugged ( I already disabled WOL)

I'd say your next step is to test with a different PSU, then.

Aside from this issue everything else seems to be normal?

I suppose it could also be a buggy device driver... a lot of sleep/hibernate issues are device driver related.

Yeah it looks that way, I'll pick up one up tomorrow when I am at office.

Not the end of the world, with new case I wanted a modular one anyways.

Update:

I went through all the USB components in Device Manager, seems I forgot to uncheck one "Allow this device to wake computer",

I did that after realizing that I forgot about my MS Wireless KB and mouse combo..

I'll put the dunce hat on now.

Note to self: don't try to troubleshoot PC problems while sick and on liquid diet.. foggy brain no help!
