to mod, or not to mod

Sat Feb 21, 2004 4:45 pm

my new case (antec 3700 BQE) is lacking adaquite intake. the front 120mm intake is pretty restrictive, as the slits are not very big. I've got two possible intake mods in mind

one side intake with duct, where the fan is not exposed to the outside, and the duct is made of foam to absorb noise, two 90 degree turns in the duct to eliminate as much noise as possible

my other idea is to put my case up on stilts, and do the same kind of thing on the bottom.

I like the latter more, as I want to expose as little sound to the outside as possible. but I really wouldn't know what to use as stilts.

I hate rice! that is one of the reasons I bought this case, because it doesn't have windows, neon lights, or spoilers

I'd say just use a pair of wire cutters and get rid of the front grill...

This should reduce noise due to the reduced turbulence and also increase airflow.

have you seen the grill on the front? it's not an issue... it looks like the one on the back.
the issue is on the bezel, it doesn't have enough slits
