full tower would be excessive and heavy.

definitely get a mid-tower.

Antec has some nice mid-towers too:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... id%20Tower

If you like them a bit flashy, maybe this?:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811129021

If you get that Antec case, they are giving you $92.50 off (INSTANT, not MIR) if you get an Antec Truepower 650Watt PSU with it. $280 for $187.

That PSU is a deactivated item, does that mean you already own it?

You may want to consider changing case to get a bundle deal. For example, you're looking at $300 for case and the X4 940 3.0ghz

If you got the case I suggested, you can get this bundle:

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HDZ955FBGIBOX - Retail

Original Price: $346.49
Discount: -$50.00
Combo Price: $296.49

Same price, but you get the X4 955 and an extra 200mhz and faster hypertransport. That 955 is going for $240, alone, right now.

$6 less than your config, and you get the X4 955... You can always buy an aftermarket red LED :)

Then unplug the blue lights.

Throw in one of these too:

No problem. It looks like the Antec cases have bundle deals on the AMD CPU and other things, but Coolermaster and most others have bundle deals on power supplies or Windows OS. So, that particular Antec case with that particular combo is the only way to get a big $50 off of the CPU. It's a really good deal... it's basically half-off of one of the most popular cases on newegg (maybe the most popular), and then you get the faster CPU.

Coolermaster does have a $99 case with a red LED I saw, which might be enough to bump you up to the X4 955 w/ same price.

Otherwise, I'd browse the cases with free shipping with side-windows and then get an red LED fan as the same size as the case fan to replace it.

That's a very nice case. It has 3 230mm fans and 1 140mm. Should be quiet and move tons of air. Those fans are HUGE. Those are about 9 inches.

Totally excessive for your system, but given the price, not a bad deal. It'll just be really big and heavy.

I didn't notice that.I don't know what your priorities are, but you really should have less case-emphasis and make sure you get a quality motherboard and a respectable AM3. Unless the computer is more for show than performance and longevity.

Look here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDeal ... mbo.212202

The motherboard you picked has a $70 off the high end X4 955 in a combo.

Just get that combo deal and your original red LED coolermaster case for $116. You'll get the fast CPU and still save some money.

Then I would go for it. You definitely want AM3 (not AM2+), and imo, given your budget and the discounts at newegg, there is no reason not to get the X4 955 black edition. So... looks good to me.
