I'm sure most of you are aware of the PC power and cooling Silencer Mk II PSUs that have been out for a while now. From what I gather, its a pretty good line, with 80 plus silver and performance that lives up to the brand's legendary reputation. It is of course available in a variety of power ratings but the 500W version strikes me as a bit odd. There appears to be no information on it, beyond the basic specifications. I can't find any reviews of it; there aren't even any user reviews on Newegg (neither the canadian or the US site have any user reviews) or NCIX and it makes me a bit... suspicious. I can't really assume that it will just perform like its bigger brothers because its only 80 plus bronze while the others in the line are 80 plus silver. I really was considering buying this thing for a build but now that I've looked into it a bit more, I'm not so sure. does anybody know what the deal with this PSU is?
On a sidenote, I might as well ask this here, since I wasn't 100% sure, but Is 500W enough for a mid range system with:
-A sandy bridge PSU (the 2500k)
-GTX 460 1gb
-a 60 gb sandforce SSD and a 500gb Samsung Spinpoint F3
-a few fans and a combo drive
I'm feeling like 500 is a bit tight if I still want to overclock with it, but I'm not really sure. thoughts?
