i7-7700K-Heat problems

Who would have thought-
A year ago you could have bet the farm no one would be saying-
"Buy AMD because of Intel heat issues"

Yeah, get enraged about that spike to 90C that's 10C below the temp the CPU even starts throttling at.

Sigh. Equating temperature and power usage/heat output is...frustrating.
Victory requires no explanation. Defeat allows none.

You would think the many competent and capable reviewers and over-clockers would have caught this in a reproducible manner.

If it's a rare enough issue there's a chance reviewers wouldn't have come across it but I agree these problems should have shown up long before now considering both reviewers and consumers have had Kaby Lake for months now (and Skylake much longer, which is essentially the same thing). Considering they don't even come with heatsinks my first suspicion would be insufficient heatsinks or improper mounting of those heatsinks. Maybe there really is a problem but a few random posts on forums isn't terribly convincing.
