Working for me this morning, less than 8 hours remaining to enter.

Given that there's no form to fill out or Captcha to complete, I'll bet the lottery pool is completely bloated with multiple robot entries.

Probably, but they do say in the terms that all automated entries are being automatically eliminated. I don't know how they are determining which are bots, but I am sure they have some algorithm in place.

My guess is that more than X entries from a certain IP address gets all the entries from that address blacklisted.

Any word if winners were notified yet? Nothing updated on the Intel site other than it has ended.

The official rules say up to two weeks, so it might be a bit yet.

Thanks, so there could still be a chance! :)
After reading TR's review I see no compelling reason to buy one but it would be nice to be selected in the sweepstakes.

That's my take on it. If I win one, I'll likely pick up a motherboard and RAM, upgrade my main desktop and do hand-me-down upgrades around the house. Otherwise, no interest in purchasing one.

I didn't even receive any email acknowledgement that I'd entered successfully. The webpage said so and I have no choice but to trust it.

I couldn't give a damn about the 8086 edition, but I'll take a free 8700K (with bonus 5GHz single-core option lol) as an upgrade to my Ivy Bridge PC without hesitation. It might even stop me from buying a Ryzen 2700X workstation that is being delayed solely by the ridonculous cost of 64GB DDR4 at the moment.
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

How refreshing. Disingenuous sniping from a bitter loser. Incidentally, AMD is only giving away 40 of those 1950X parts and only in the U.S. which shows just how confident they are that they'll have takers. In other words: Not really confident at all.

Wake me up when they give away 8086 of them to every single winner around the world without requiring this stupid "trade in" program and then give away another 8086 to show that they aren't just doing this to be petty and weak like you obviously are.

Hey, surely you don't expect everyone to let you have all the fun?

Whodathunk that AMD wouldn't be in a position to give away 8086 processors, let alone the 65,391,482 you [inanely?] ask for =P

Some of us actually want AMD to go above & beyond here! But I'll settle for AMD giving one Threadripper 1950X to each 8086K winner regardless of where that winner lives and without requiring a trade in. Even that's a big step down from AMD giving a 32 core Threadripper2 to each of the winners.

After all, from what I've heard Threadripper is so amazing that AMD should actively promote side-by-side comparisons. Especially in games.

Pop into a thread involving Intel, and guess who's there acting wounded. Quelle surprise.

Good luck to everyone who entered. Here's hoping I'm not disqualified for entering with two legit email addresses.

Holy ****, my wife won!

Going to attempt the swap for a 1950X on Monday when AMD releases the rules. She is my luck angel.

Assuming AMD's offer is popular you have less than a 2% chance of getting that 1950X.

So if you get it, please have your wife select lottery numbers for me OK?!?!

It's a race on Monday at 11 AM MST...hopefully we do get to swap. I have no desire for a new desktop (neither does she), but upgrading my NAS would be freakin' wonderful.

I'll have her generate a few lottery numbers for everyone - but if I know her well (and I claim to) she'll just dump a bunch of garbage from /dev/urandom for you. :P

I won, too!

Neat! I just got a 2600X I planned to run for a few years, I guess that can be my productivity PC and the 8086K will be the gaming PC. My i5-3570K will be relegated to the home theater. I should be more than CPU setup for quite some time. A bit deficient on GPU power with a 290X, 7870, and 4850...

I suppose I could trade this for 1/2 of a 1080 Ti now that the prices are getting close to MSRP

Congrats!!

Officially requested a swap for the 2950X this morning (well, BluePanda did, but same difference). We'll see if we're one of the first 40!
