PC ARM?

Interesting speculation. I’m sure they’re doing *something* but I doubt they’re investing the resources necessary to compete with apple. I mean they could, but they don’t have to, so why bother?

If anybody is going to design an ARM SOC for PCs that’s competitive with apple I bet it would be Nvidia.

Also.... just because intel has dropped the ball in advancing x86 doesn’t mean x86 can’t be improved. AMD brought 64 bit and more registers to x86. Maybe they can do something analogous now to better compete with apple.

Since AMD is already doing HMA I can see them coming up with something that can compete.
I don't know if higher performance laptops will ever go to SOC but something for the bottom end end with a long battery life might show up with SOC.
