Good case for AM1 build

Tue Feb 17, 2015 10:49 pm

Looking for good case for AM1 Kabini build. Included power supply would be preferable for cost reasons, wouldn't mind if needed external DC brick plugged in. I would like to find one without an optical drive spot, I have a standalone Blu-Ray player, and would be doing transcoding on my main PC and sending over network to 1 TB USB3 drive. So only need ample room for AM1 board, 5350 CPU, RAM, and an SSD.

I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811154091 It would work, I don't like how the PSU is above the CPU fan but a reviewer said it was fine with the stock AM1 CPU.

Edit:
Found this motherboard from ASRock that accepts DC input so would work with laptop charger: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157491
That would make it a good fit for this mini case:

Anyone have experience with this motherboard?

I was hoping for $60 with PSU, but that Antec case looks promising, and its not that much more. I like how the drives mount on the back and the overall design.

I can vouch for the ISK 110, in fact I have two spares laying around right now since I decided to add discrete GPUs to the systems that were in them.

I don't suppose one of them is this gem? (I'm not a stalker, that build just really stuck in my head)

Lol, it is, I took it apart to use the fan for something else but ended up with a different plan so it could easily be reassembled or I could put the original mesh back in since the mod didn't mess it up much.

I might stick another 65w APU in there again some day...
