JAE, what specific limitations are driving you back to micro-ATX, out of curiosity? My most recent personal build was micro-ATX, and I've been leaning towards mini-ITX whenever I build next. I really like the look of the Node 202.

On the Node 202... My experience with these style cases with a RVZ02 is that they're kinda bad. You're only saving space in one dimension. Otherwise it's very similar in height and depth to a mATX or compact ATX case. Plus their noise level is highly dependent on your component choices. There are no panels redirecting or dampening the noise. So when your GPU or CPU or PSU fan spins up you'll hear it loud and clear. And since there's nothing assisting with taking the hot air away your components will run hotter. And in turn your GPU or CPU may not boost quite as high or consistently.

Really? Because your own case choice invalidates one of those points i.e. the M1 is very expensive. And quiet is absolutely not an advantage most mITX builds have, more the exception than the rule IMO.

I think it's pretty silly how we're creating idealogies around motherboard form factors. mITX has a wide variety of appeal. It can be ideal for a cheap or an expensive build. It can be loud or quiet. It doesn't even necessarily need to be *that* much smaller depending on your needs in total.

Note that I used the past tense. It was to enable smaller, cheaper, quiet systems. I also qualified that with the context under which the Mini-ITX platform was introduced - look at the news articles around the VIA VT-6010, and the EPIA-5000 and EPIA-800 (which were the VT-6010 brought into production). And, really, the "quieter" wasn't inherent to Mini-ITX, it was just because of the fact that the VIA Eden CPU worked well on Mini-ITX, and therefore it got smaller and quieter at the same time. Mini-ITX literally existed as a way for VIA to sell C3s and Edens, which were their cheaper (well, sometimes)/quieter competitor to the Celeron and Duron, because the Socket 370 C3s weren't taking off.

However, now, the point is still smaller, but not necessarily cheaper, and not necessarily quieter, now that there's desktop CPUs. But, smaller is still the point!

You have some incorrect numbers about that case. The volume is actually 19.5 L.

The footprint is way off, too. It's around 11x9 (99) square inches, not 199.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Looks like those numbers are the package dimensions, not the case dimensions. I get 43 L when using the package dimensions, but under 19 L using the case dimensions [~20.2 L "with feet/screws/protrusions"]

Both of those cases you linked are half-height, which means no GPU, so 90% of builds can't use cases like that.
