Shuttle ST20G5 Memory Dividers

Sat Jul 09, 2005 3:36 pm

Hi,

I downloaded the ST20G5 manual to find out whether the BIOS had any memory dividers and found this somewhat cryptic statement in the DRAM Configuration>Memclock index value (Mhz):

Memclock index value (Mhz)Places an artificial memory clock limit on the system. Memory is prevented from running faster than this frequency. The Choice:100Mhz, 133Mhz, 166Mhz, or 200Mhz.

Is this Shuttle's way of saying; 1:2, 2:3, 5:6, 1:1 multipliers? Or do they have some way of applying the proper memory divider to the RAM so that no matter what your CPU FSB is set at, it divides it so that your RAM runs at the stated frequencies?

Thanks.

Lots of boards let you generate memory clock indepent of bus clock. The board in question could well be one of them.
