I have a gigabyte ga-h77n-wifi, running an i3 3225.
I need an aftermarket heatsink/fan that is no taller than 82mm in order to fit my sugo sg05
It cannot be any wider than the stock(I can't seem to find this dimension anywhere, but it appears to be no wider than 92mm) heat sink either because I'm already right up against the video card.
Any help appreciated.

Due to the placement of the socket near the PCIe slot there's basically no good options. I have the Z77 chipset version of this motherboard, they're basically identical in layout. The best low profile options are all too wide for socket clearance. I haven't found an aftermarket heatsink that is superior to the Intel one. A Scythe Shuriken SCSK-1000 might be an option but good luck finding one if you're in the US.

A Silverstone NT06-Pro should work perfectly.

I can still find the Shuriken Rev B SCSK-1100.

Plus, Arctic seems to have their Alpine and Freezer LP which does not have a vertical fan setup, which all may fit.

This Zalman HSF is only 67mm tall...

It is, but it's also quite a bit wider than the stock HSF, which was another requirement due to the socket being placed so close to the PCI-e slot.

92mm version then? I'm just throwing out ideas. Whats the actual clearance from the center of the socket to the PCIe slot?

That Zalman cooler isn't nearly as effective as the Silverstone heatsink that was specifically designed to fit into your case.

Note that Newegg has assembled the HSF incorrectly in their photograph. The fan is designed to mount on the underside of the fins for low clearance applications like your Sugo SG05.

If we are not looking at big overclocks, then the NT07 may be a candidate as well.

Seems like they are all 80mm, which seems like less cooling.
Or 90 mm and no taller than stock.
Or 92 mm and those are too wide.

The NT06-Pro uses 120mm fan, but that may be touching the video card. The size of the fan is not the only factor in cooling efficiency. If you really want cooling, then you would not be restricting yourself with such a small case in the first place.

The Prolimatech Samuel 17 *MIGHT* work for you. It uses a 120mm fan but it is designed to over hang the ram and other compoents. I've used this heatsink on 4 different ITX motherboards and it fits all of them. Depending on orientation, it will clear the PCIE slot.
