Anyone have Kingston’s HyperX Cloud Headset

Thu Jan 14, 2016 7:12 am

I am looking for a great set of wired cans to use with my sound blaster Z since I broke off my USB dongle for my G930 wireless surround headphones when I was cleaning out my XL140 radiator with the vacuum cleaner brush and want to get a wired set of really good Cans that are under 100$ and Kingston’s HyperX Cloud Headset has great reviews, cost like $78, have 53mm drivers and are rated as the Best gaming headset on PC gamer.

I am also interested in the Takstar Pro80 Headphones Audio Monitor Sound Earphones which do not have a mic but that is fine since I use the Beam Forming Microphone that same with my sound blaster Z, it is an Amazing Mic that allows me to game with my speakers cranked and no one can hear them even when I talk, Plus I have TeamSpeak set to auto without pushing a button and while gaming at loud volume the Micdoes not pickup the sound of the game. Also you can adjust the width of the Cone on the twin Miced Beam forming Mic to a space 12" wide or 4 ft wide. For example if I am talking with my head in the center of my 34" 21/9 monitor and I am 16" from the Mic When I ,move just 12" to the right or left while I am talking I fade out to nothing and mic disables..pretty impressive i thought.

So I am wondering if anyone has a set and how you like them and other choices perhaps even cheaper but just as good?

Wow, how can you go from wireless to wired ?? There is NO WAY you could convince me to go back to a wired set of cans. I love my G930s, and dread the day they stop working. You can buy another dongle for the G930s for $25, or just sell 'em to me, as I'd love a second set to use with my HTPC.

A true audiophile would shun wireless cans. But then again a true audiophile would shun any of the cans already mentioned.

But that doesn't means there isn't a place for wireless cans. Gaming would be one of those places.

I would pass on them solely because of the gratuitous use of the word "Cloud" in the product name.

I suppose it could've been worse... they could've named them "HyperX Digital Cloud Ultra" or somesuch.

People I play internet games (Arma 3, Wargame, Insurgency, etc.) with have the HyperX Cloud, and quite like it.

I have a Steelseries Siberia v1, and while the sound is quite good, it does suffer from cable management issues and one of the ear cups is squeaky. People from the same group also use the Siberia V2 and quite like it, I chose the V1 because of smaller drivers (40mm compared to 50mm in the v2, which I thought would have too much bass).

I plan on getting it and i appreciate the link for the USB dongle, but you need to know they have dropped in price a helluva a lot so just buy another new pair. I think they are running from 770-75$ now not 119 like when I got mine ages ago. My battery still lasts forever so i do not need a replacement yet.

I just want better sound than the usb dongle can send/give and i want to use my soundcard so that is why I am going wired on my gaming rig.

My 930's were relegated to HTPC use when the wife is trying to sleep..plus the fact that i cna plug the dongle into any of my 5 PC's and get half decent sound. Wish TV makers would support USB wireless headsets with some kind of standard since they all have USB ports now.

They could follow Razer and require an internet connection/software/cloud login crap to use basic features of your product. :o

Am I missing something? (Always possible) The Kingstons ARE relabeled Takstar Pro80s with a mic.

The Takstars do have quite a few fans amongst the Head-Fi crowd.
