Same here. I use it for ripping CDs to FLAC, then I can convert to mp3 for use in my car or to ogg for use in some games that allow custom sound tracks. It is by far the easiest program I've found to do this job. I used CDEX for over 10 years, but once I realized foobar2000 could do the same thing (and I had already been using it for a music player for 10+ years), I switched and haven't had a single problem with it.

just brew it! wrote:
If you're storing the files in the phone in FLAC format to get better fidelity, why do you want a lossy codec in the signal path at all? If you really care about lossless audio, use a wired connection.

If you're going to use Bluetooth, you might as well use a lossy codec for your media files as well, conserving space on the micro-SD card.

Edit: I'm not sure what "non-destructive" even means in the context of an audio codec. Taken literally, it means "does not destroy the sound", which is a pretty low bar! They have a separate codec (aptX Lossless) that they claim is lossless, so I don't think they mean that the "regular" aptX is completely lossless.

Heya JBI, so a month ago I bought a Kenwood car deck that came with playback of 24 bit, 96hz audio files for the usb and the main reason I bought it was for the Aptx.
I have the LG G5 and got it all installed only to find out that Nougat did not have the required libraries or something like that to activate the Aptx codec.

Did some research and was surprised to learn my carriers was upgrading the LG G5 to Oreo and lo and behold I hooked her up to the LG Bridge and it was there to be updated yesterday.

Long story short there is absolutely an improvement in the music, seems to be throughout the midrange and higher notes and what seems obvious to me is a noticeable improvement in clarity.

Now on to finding some nice headphones with Aptx.

FWIW, pretty sure you mean aptX HD.

I'm surprised that car audio would be improved that much.
