I'm still sticking with my free solution, though. Works for me.
Edit: For ripping (as opposed to transcoding) I use K3B, with the "paranoia" mode cranked all the way up to use the most aggressive retry and error correction logic it supports. Unless there are areas of the disc that are completely unreadable after many retries, it'll get a good rip.
