+1 for the Zalman ZM-Mic1

I've used this for almost a decade now and it's never done me wrong. Because they were cheap at the time I bought two just in case. The other has sat unopened. There is one caveat that I have to warn you about; it's cable is very long. So if you are only a couple of feet away from your PC make sure you get some cable ties.

We reviewed the ModMic and Nathan loved it lots. For another recommendation, I like the Sony ECM-CS3 that Scott recommended me. It's fantastic. But I think that that ModMic is by far the better choice for using with the 'phones.

I've had the Zalman and the ModMic, and I definitely prefer the latter. The clip on the Zalman didn't quite fit the cable on one set of headphones, but it works well when it is secure.
On second thought, let's not go to TechReport. Tis a silly place.

Another vote for the Zalman- just works, and is actually pretty clear, so long as you can get it close and keep noise from rubbing against clothing minimized. It's also cheap enough to just try.

Another vote for the ModMic series. The wife has reviewed every single one of them from version one, they're all excellent.

I bought the Modmic 5 to check it out. Cool thing is it came with extra magnetic holders so I can move the mic from one headset to another. (I normally switch between 2, a full closed and an on ear one based on if I need to listen for the kids)

I also like that it came with nylon tubing so you can bind the mic cord and headset cord together makes it a lot cleaner and better cable management than clips or velcro straps.

I haven't really used it for voice yet but just testing it out it sounds really clean and clear. I also like the that the mic is switchable from uni-directional to omni-directional based on environment.

Still it pretty expensive vs. the Zalman. The Zalman is dirt cheap comparatively speaking and it just works.
