NFL network surround sound issues?

Thu Nov 29, 2012 10:33 pm

So I'm watching thursday night football and I noticed it sounded a little funny. My rear speaker of my 5.1 setup were louder than the front. I figured the kids or wife sat on the remote or turned some knobs on the receiver or something. Went through the calibration setup, changed the sound fields, etc and it was still messed up! I noticed that the front and center channels were being output from the rear speakers...weird. I changed the cable channel to another station and everything went back to normal! But I switched back to nfl network and it's still messed up.

Is it possible that the NFL network is broadcasting the sound with the inputs switched? Is that even possible? I'm imaging that someone plugged the cables to the wrong inputs on their mixer lol.

If I turn off surround and set my receiver to stereo it sounds fine though. Just no 5.1 :(

I'm curious if anyone else noticed this tonight.

Going in to the 4th quarter and it's fixed now. I did do some google searches and it look like other people with Comcast were having similar issues. Still strange though.
